Strengthening Organizational & Time Management Skills A common impediment for students is the inability to successfully organize assignments, establish priorities, and budget time. We help students improve their capacity to manage their responsibilities. Gaining the ability to control the process, rather than being controlled by it, is often a key to success. We utilize numerous strategies to help students learn techniques for goal-setting, time management, memorization, and improved note and test taking.
One obstacle that affects the education of many individuals is a learning disability, such as ADD or dyslexia. Other students simply lack the skills to achieve their full potential. We help students find a renewed enthusiasm for learning by assisting them to develop successful strategies for coping with ADD and other learning disabilities. We foster greater self-discipline through goal-setting and learning how to budget time. We teach a variety of test-preparation and test-taking strategies. We show students how to dramatically improve their writing skills by developing an appreciation of the writing process. The end results are better study habits and improved grades. The SAT changed in March 2005. The latest test contains new questions, including Algebra II and grammar, and an essay. It remains the test of choice for most admissions offices of colleges and universities throughout the U.S. In February 2005 an optional essay was added to the ACT. Most colleges accept the ACT in lieu of the SAT. One great advantage of the ACT is that you can take the test several times and choose which score to submit. Clearly SAT and ACT test scores play a critical factor in the process of college applicants. We have expertise in helping students significantly increase their scores. We also assist students in improving their results on SAT II Exams, especially Writing. Utilizing traditional methods and technological resources, we ensure that students feel confident and prepared on test day.

Developing Personal Initiative & Extracurricular Involvement Many students feel inhibited in their capacity to advocate and communicate for themselves. Inevitably, this leads to missed opportunities and poor academic performance. We help individuals eliminate their fears, improve their social communication skills, and obtain greater scholastic achievement. We show them how to seek out resources and network within the school community. We encourage development of personal interest and participation within student organizations and afterschool activities. We assist students to develop better problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Additionally, we coach them to enhance the critical skills of accountability, initiative, and leadership. Managing the college admissions process has become nightmarish. There is an endless stream of paperwork and details. We help students navigate the process effectively and successfully. We help them handle all the details of standardizaed testing, transcripts, recommendations, and deadlines. We assist them in formulating essays that are extraordinary and unforgettable, creating dynamic resumes, completing and proofreading applications, and rehearsing for college interviews. Throughout the whole process, we ensure that no aspect is overlooked. GRE Preparation / Graduate School Application Assistance After completing an undergraduate degree, the logical next step for many students is pursuit of a Masters Degree. We help individuals choose the right schools, create a dynamic resume, complete graduate school applications, practice for interviews, research scholarship opportunities, and study for the GRE. Statistics reveal that individuals who complete high school or attain a GED will enjoy greater income potential and have more opportunities for career advancement throughout their lifetime. We work with students of all ages to help them successfully pass the GED exam in order to achieve their future dreams. |
